Hans Raj College is one of the largest constituent colleges of the University of Delhi. This co- educational Institute offers education in all the three streams- arts, science and commerce, and is located on the Mahatma Hans Raj College Road, Kamla Nagar, in the Delhi University’s North campus, and has been ranked amongst the Top-10 Science, Arts and Commerce Colleges of India. Hans Raj College is one of the largest constituent Colleges of the University of Delhi. An institution with academicians imparting education in different fields, the College today has a reputation for performance in academics, sports and extra curricular activities. Rated among top ten Colleges of the country in Science, Commerce & Arts. The college ensures complete development of the body, mind and the soul while enshrining traditional Indian values in each of its students. [7] The college was founded by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee on July 26, 1948 in the memory of Mahatama Hans Raj, a pioneer in the field of education. It is today one of the lights in the D.A.V. family of over 700 institutions and one of the largest constituent college of Delhi University. More than 3700 students on its rolls interact here with scholars on its faculty. The College has completed 62 years in imparting higher education. It has made contribution to Society in terms of producing dignitaries, scholars, intellectuals and sports persons who served different domains not only in our own country but even at international levels.[8]
A institution, with academicians imparting education in different fields, the College today has a reputation for performance in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities. Rated among top ten Colleges of the country in Science, Commerce & Arts. Over the years, the College has built up an infrastructure. It includes a Central Library, Department libraries for Science subjects and a Book Bank for needy students. The College has six Computer Labs. and 18 Science laboratories.The College has an Auditorium fitted with sound and light systems with a seating capacity of 500 persons and a stage. Another attraction is a Seminar Room with a seating capacity of 120 fitted with sound and projection systems. The College has a hostel accommodating about 200 undergraduate boys and is fitted with solar geysers and 24 hrs. power back up. Constructional work is in full swing of the addition of 2nd floor in the college building. Common science laboratories, lecture theaters fitted with LCD projectors may cater to the needs of increasing number of students including OBC and PH students. [9]
Its sports facilities include play ground, an Indoor Sports Complex, Playrooms and the only Electronic Shooting Range in the University. [10]
